Let’s Help Dog Guides!
Share the Green Capes calendar campaign with friends and family.
Karen Schmidt shared with us an email sent to her friends and family promoting Calendar Sales. We’ve turned it into a couple of samples to inspire you to send out similar messages.
- Sample 1 is for CSP members.
- Sample 2 is for everyone: Fosters, Grads, Supporters.
- Sample Poster: For your house or office (download and edit Word Doc)
Start with some personal news and puppy photos then share what’s happening with the DG school.
Let people know if you are selling calendars. Remind them of the Green Capes store. If you are doing something extra (selling socks you knit or puppy bandanas?) let your friends know about that.
Are there any events in your area where you can get a table? Fall fairs, pet stores, rummage sales are all great places to bring calendars. If so then let people know.
Make sure you include a direct donation link – your friends will get a charitable receipt for direct donations and every $ goes to the campaign.
Ask your friends to share your email.
If you want to use any of the images in our sample email just right click and download using “Save Image As” and then include it in your message.
We have lots more resources to help you sell at tinyurl.com/greencapes
To join the Calendar Sales program click “Local” or “Distance” CSP above.

Sample Letter 1: For CSP Members
Hi Friends.
I wanted to share with you some of our news and I have a very important request.
Dream Graduated in the Canine Vision Program in June
We are so extremely proud of Dream! She is working for a client who graduated from the CVC program.
New Puppy Eloise arrived
We picked up Miss Eloise On March 24th. She has the cutest little line of fur on her nose, referred to as a “zipper”.
Building Paused on Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide Training School
I am sad to announce that building on the new Dog Guide Training School has been paused due to a funding shortfall. The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is trying to raise $20M in funding by the end of October so they can continue with construction. $5M of that needs to come from regular Canadians like us.
The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides are approaching the public, the Provincial and Federal governments, celebrities, charitable organizations, etc. If you are able to donate or work for a company who may consider donating to this worthy cause which helps Canadians with disabilities across the country, please share the website link dogguides.com or the Fundraising page: dogguides.com/the-difference-campaign/
Calendars
If you haven’t purchased a calendar yet – this is the time! The school needs as many donations before the end of October as possible. Let me know how many of the 2026 adorable 12 x 12 puppy wall calendars you would like – for friends, for Christmas gifts or for your own wall. While digital calendars are nice it’s great to have a month at a glance (and a cute puppy) where everyone can see. Calendars are $20 each.
If you don’t have space for one or if you like fun items with cute puppies (who doesn’t!) another way to help is buying some of the other amazing items available from Green Capes..
Link to store: shop.greencapes.org
You will find more details on all the products there.
To order calendars ($20 each) just email me how many you would like and etransfer the total to mymail@gmail.com.
To donate directly go to: dogguides.com/donate/online-donations/ (you will get a tax receipt).
Please share this email with your friends and family. Puppy Eloise is counting on you! We need her school to be built so she can help someone just like Dream!
Thank you!
